ADVANCING EQUITY AND INNOVATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Art History and Its Meaning at the Brooklyn Museum

My Art History and Its Meaning class toured Kehinde Wiley: A New Republic at the Brooklyn Museum last week. After viewing the exhibition we posed for a group portrait under one of Wiley’s paintings. We assumed poses inspired by works in the exhibition, which were, in turn, based on historic paintings and sculptures. By appropriating the poses, my students directly entered into this portraiture lineage! photo(10)
