How to List Posts by Category in a Post/Page
This tutorial will walk you through how to list posts by category in a post/page using the List Category Posts plugin. Please note: this tutorial requires the List Category Posts plugin and Administrator privileges. If you have built a site on the FI network, this plugin will come already installed and will only need to be activated on your site.

Basic Information
- This tutorial will walk you through how to list posts by category in a post/page using the List Category Posts plugin
- The plugin uses the catlist shortcode.
- This shortcode accepts a category name or id, the order in which you want the posts to display, the number of posts to display and many more parameters
- For example, if you would like to include on a page a list of links to blog posts that were tagged with the category “Events”, you would use the following shortcode on your page:

Step 1: First, we need to activate theList Category Posts Plugin. Go to your site’s dashboard and click on Plugins.
Step 2: On the Plugin page, scroll down until you find List Category Posts and click on Activate.
Step 3: Now create a new Post. In the text box, enter in your shortcode

Don’t forget to add the quotation marks! Add a title and then click Publish.
Step 4: Now let’s double check that the shortcode worked by viewing the post. The easiest way to do this is by clicking the View Post link that appears after you click Publish. We see that the shortcode worked and our Tech-Tip posts are listed! All done!
