New Leadership Fellow Cohort 2018-2019
We are delighted to announce that another exciting year of the Futures Initiative Undergraduate Leadership Program is about to begin! This year, thirty undergraduate Leadership Fellows from twelve different City University of New York (CUNY) campuses have been selected in a highly competitive process. We would like to thank the Graduate Center and CUNY for their support of this year’s program.
We will kick off the leadership program at the Graduate Center on Wednesday, August 15th, where students will come together to learn leadership and mentoring skills. This year, Leadership Fellows will also participate in joint meetings and activities with our sister program, the CUNY Humanities Alliance. Leadership Fellows will have the opportunity to attend Futures Initiative events and will be included in programming with faculty and graduate students through the University Worth Fighting For series.
Participants will build meaningful relationships with their fellow peers, graduate students, and faculty members at the Graduate Center. There was an rigorous application and review process conducted to choose the incoming cohort of Leadership Fellows and they were nominated by faculty and instructors who some are students themselves at the Graduate Center and throughout the various two year community colleges and four year senior level colleges across CUNY.
We are excited to welcome aboard our new 2018-2019 cohort of Undergraduate Leadership Fellows and we know this year will be our best year yet in making strides to become leaders and stepping into leadership roles that will not only help them continue on their path toward student success, but will also enable them to learn life skills that will help them achieve their personal and professional goals.
