The CUNY disability scholars group is an informal network of CUNY faculty, students, and staff with a shared interest in disability studies. The group meets regularly during the academic year. The purpose of the group is to connect disability scholars from every part of the university, to support a community of scholarly sharing and discourse, and to foster collaborations between disciplines, between campuses, between junior and senior scholars, and between applied and theoretical disability studies work.
This year, the CUNY Disability Scholars group invites you to participate in a series of public events as part of “Disability, Culture, and Society,” a graduate course team-taught by Julia Miele Rodas (Bronx Community College) and Joseph Straus (The Graduate Center). Events are co-sponsored by the CUNY Disability Scholars; the Futures Initiative; the CUNY Graduate Center Program in Music & the CUNY School of Professional Studies.
The Graduate Center and CUNY School of Professional Studies are both wheelchair accessible. For other accommodations, please contact events@sps.cuny.edu.
