ADVANCING EQUITY AND INNOVATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

HASTAC.org Archive

It is my pleasure to announce the completion of archiving the website HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Science, and Technology Alliance and Collaboratory), which ran from 2006–22. As the website migrates to a new home on Humanities Commons, a large amount of older content will not be relocated. Considering how so much of this content contains valuable insights and that the website has served as a historical record of developments in and around academia, it makes much sense that the website be archived and housed at Duke University Digital Collections. The archive entails three components:

  1. A dynamic version of hastac.org (2006–22) that can be recreated from its original content management system code, database, and files. Private user data has been erased.
  2. A static HTML version of hastac.org (2006–22) which allows archive visitors to experience the site immediately and as visually intended – on any browser.
  3. A directory of content (20,000 items) with author and date information, containing static HTML versions of all posts ever made.

I enjoyed exploring the richness HASTAC, am thankful for the support I received from my teammates, and am happy to see the site transmute into these new forms.
