Dear Colleagues,

We hope this message finds you healthy and well in spite of the difficult circumstances. After much consideration, the conference planning committee has decided to postpone our Graduate Education at Work in the World conference by a full year, until Spring 2021. New dates have not yet been selected. In the meantime, we invite you to join us for a special online discussion on graduate education as part of the HASTAC Digital Friday series. The session will be hosted by conference organizers on May 1st, 2020. For more information and to RSVP, please visit the event page.

We have made this decision for several reasons. First, we are uncertain how long the pandemic and related disruptions will last. While we hope that the situation will be much improved by fall, we cannot be sure. In addition, many spring events are being rescheduled for fall, and we anticipate that it will be a very busy semester for everyone. By postponing for a full year, we hope everyone will have time to regroup before coming together in NYC for a long-awaited gathering.

We understand that not everyone who originally planned to attend will be able to participate. For those who planned to present, we know your sessions may evolve. We will be in touch with all presenters in the months ahead to determine whether you would like to keep your session as-is, modify it, or withdraw it.

Thank you all for your patience during this complicated time. We hope you are in good health, and we hope to see you next year.

Apply for Travel Support

We are pleased to announce the availability of $300 travel grants to support participation in the conference. Priority will be given to students, and adjunct faculty members, as well as those who do not have institutional funds to offset the cost of travel.

We ask those who receive travel funds to help document their experience at the conference by capturing and sharing highlights through social media, blog posts, photography, or some other format.

We welcome a diversity of voices and levels of experience. You do not have to be a conference presenter to receive funding.

The application process is now open, with a deadline of Tuesday, March 31, 2020. To apply, please fill out this form.
