Studying too hard??

Hi everyone!

Firstly, I would like to send some positive vibes out there for our final exam tomorrow. I wish you all the best tomorrow, and on your future endeavors. Don’t give up!

With all the hard work we did this semester, it’s pretty easy to be overwhelmed about our exam tomorrow. If you have been studying really hard, and you want to get everything right, good for you! Everyone has a certain amount of time that they need to study in order to absorb the information. Sometimes, it can be too much though. Knowing when to stop is a good thing, because you will be able to relax your mind, and retain the information for tomorrow morning. I studied a lot for another exam, and I was doing well testing myself, but then I started to blank out on answers I already knew in the past. Knowing when to stop is just as important as studying hard, and getting everything right.

All the best,

Julianna

Take a practice test

When you are all finished studying, and think you’re ready to take the final, take the time to take a practice test. Take all the quizzes as if you’re taking the final that way you can see what it is you really understand what you need to focus a little more on before taking the final. It worked for me during the midterm, and I think it’ll work in everyone’s favor for the final!

Get on your feet repeat “ITS FINALS TIME ITS FINALS TIME”

I have been on campus everyday this week and almost everyday I’ve had a final(except today) and had to prepare for  each one a day or two in advance, because my professor decided that he wanted to give the class new info. two days before his final. SMH but I’m not stressing because I wouldn’t be able to focus and do what is needed. So on that note; I will be in the library studying from 9am-12pm (because today is parent teacher conference) and i will return at 4pm until the library closes. So if anyone want to meet up and study you can meet me in the library if I’m not on the first floor by the cubicle i will be at the computer. Studying is best done with others because if you don’t understand something your study partner can help you out by giving you other ways of seeing and retaining the information.

see you if i see you:

Take a breath…..

As I sit here wanting to pull my hair out because my water bottle exploded in my bag and ruined ALL my study sheets for my remaining finals….I figure what better time than now to create a blog post for A&P? What Im noticing throughout the chaos of finals week….is that there is only so much you can control. On top of everyday life, I now have to deal with the unnecessary stress of wet notes which makes it difficult to study. The drama queen in me is screaming “WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE”

However its not the situation that defines you, but how you deal with the situation. Just let it go, my notes are wet, it puts a damper on my studying but I have no choice but to put my fan on high, wait for them to dry and thats all. And it’s kind of like that with life. If something is beyond your control, just do what you can and let the rest happen….Don’t try to memorize every test question, but learn the material overall and the rest will fall into place.

I won’t wish everyone luck for this friday as well as any other finals, because a wise person once told me “luck is for the unprepared”. (gotta love when your best friend has those philosophical moments once a year) Just do what you can and don’t let wet notes ruin your life lol hope someone reads this novel and feels a bit of reassurance.

Sincerely,

High and Dry. (in a good way)

Happy Mother’s Day!

Hi Class,

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful Sunday. As this semester comes to a close, I have so many thoughts swirling around my head about the ‘next step’. So I present  this question to you all.  What’s the next step for you? Is it summer classes, GRE prep, graduation? For me it’s more pre-req’s and if everything goes according to plan I will be finished by the year’s end.

I can honestly say that taking this course course with Professor Lissemore has changed my outlook on science classes in general. It has truly sparked an interest in human anatomy and I have learned a lot more in this class than I have in course in a long, long time. It really has been money well spent. There needs to be more classes like this, across the board. Thank you!

Bronx Cheer!

I really enjoy the bronx cheer, you guys did a really good job with finding words and ways to make it rhyme with some of the things we are learning. I believe this will be an overall good presentation and performance. I hope by the time we actually film I don’t become camera shy.

Futures Initiative Summer Mentorship Program

As we have discussed in class, the Futures Initiative will be hosting a two-day mentorship workshop this summer, August 18-19. This is a terrific opportunity, especially if you’d like to take on a leadership role and go deeper into the methods we’ve explored this semester. If chosen, you will be paid $200 for the two days and will be given round-trip metrocards! What a deal! The application takes about 15 minutes to cmplete and is due next Friday, May 8. (Next Week!!)  Go LehmAnatomy & Physiology! Be Bronx Proud! http://bit.ly/mentorship-undergrads
