Bronx Community College, The City College of New York
Born and raised in Dominican Republic, moved to the United States of America on December 2016. After graduating from High School I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to study and chose Electromechanical Engineering at the Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo just to take the challenge of something new and incomprehensible for me, I completed 4 college semester in my country and transferred my credits to CUNY. The resources for the hangs on and laboratories were lacking in my country, but coming to the United States and studying properly Electronics Engineering at Bronx Community College has changed my point of view about the possibilities on my future. I graduated from BCC in Spring 2019 and transferred to City College of NY to pursue my Electrical Engr BE. In summer 2018 I volunteered at CUNY Service Corps forming part of “NY Stands with Puerto Rico Recovery and Rebuilding Initiative” first cohort and gained intercultural experience, teamwork skills and construction knowledge. Participated at “Write Letters of Love to NYU Veterans and Troops with the LGBTQ Alumni Network” at NYU in December 2018. I’m currently College Assistant/ Spanish Tutor at Bronx Community College (since Fall 2018) and a Futures Initiative Leadership and Democracy Fellow (2019 – 2020).
